I met a few people from the middle east who I only talk to in English coz frankly I cant speak proper arabic and they will not understand what i say in our Algerian “patois”
hey yo,
chabba can have two meanings; either “the beautiful” “the pretty”, or an adult woman can also be called chabba (for male it’s chab)
bent: daughter or female
bladi: “my country”
bent bladi: is a two word equivalent to compatriot someone from the same country as you.
Hi!
I just discovered your website 2 days ago while googling Setif. I’m from there but currently i’m in the US, for about 7 years. I just gotta say, it’s really awesome considering I haven’t visited since I moved here and I miss it terribly. Keep up the good work and hope you’re having fun, it’s truly a beautiful place.
I found your blog by chance surfing on the net.
What a nice experience!
I really enjoy discovering that a lot of people go an live abroad for a while and it is very nice also when the take some time like you do to share their experiences!
From our side, we are a Franco-Bulgarian couple, living in madrid after spending 2 years in Cuba! We also do write a blog!
Your site is wonderful and offers great information. My question is, I am considering traveling to Setif and want to know if I should have any concerns traveling as a single woman. I am living in the USA.
